fiancee visa overstay

hi

i hope somebody can help me.i arrived here in the us with an fiancee visa which expired last august.my fiance and i had problems and were not sure if i should stay or go back.hard when you never lived together even knowing each other in long distance for many years.i know that you promise at the embassy that you get married within 90 days but sometimes life goes other ways.now my question:can we still get married even after the visa expired ? will there be troubles for us?does anybody has experience which such a case.we both never did anything wrong with the law ever.i really need help in this.thanks
