  • Visa question

    Hi All,

I went for the US Visa(Mumbai - India) interview yesterday and it went well. The VO ended the conversation by keeping my passport and saying "thanks, your passport will be ready in 5 days."

    Questions
    1) I have received the Visa right ?
2)Today the VISA site says "Ready for pickup" , so my doubt is..So fast ??
3)If I was rejected I would have been handed back my Passport then and there right ?

    Please do reply.

    Dont be too anxious.

    1. Seems yes.
    2. Yes.
    3. Not necessarily sometimes they reject at a much later stage too. But that happens in rare circumstances.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thanks for the quick reply buddy!

I can't help but be anxious

But from the way it ended it seemed like it went well and it was being given, also, if I was rejected I should have got the visa back immediately, right ?. And if it was taken it was going to be approved(Though you say it CAN be rejected later, but the reason it was taken was to be stamped "Approved")

Just wanted to know for a FACT that they do not keep the passport whether or not it has been approved.

I know they only keep it with them if your visa is approved, but this was 5 years ago and I am hoping that the procedure hasn't changed.

You're mostly rejected on the spot. At this point, it sounds promising.

Thanks for your reply, can you confirm if they still hand over the passport to you at the time of your interview after your rejected? Or do they keep it for any purpose? Would make no sense them keeping it just to stamp "rejected"

I would reiterate that you are being overly anxious. No one can confirm or deny as a FACT that you have got the visa till you actually see it in the passport.

Based on my past experience, entry to any country, US included, is not guaranteed till one actually lands and comes out of the Port on Entry unscathed.

Look at Edward Snowden he was left stranded at an international airport for weeks.

            So, have patience.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

                  Aiport Transit Visa

                  Dear Sir or Madam,

                  *

We are in Paris and we bought tickets with airfrance and the connection fly is: Paris-Atlanta-Mexico (same day). We are Mexicans and we will return to Mexico onOctober, 26 2013. So my family they do not have American Visa, only I have it. Unfortunately in Mexico we received wrong information and in Paris the right information about this situation.

We have to go to the USA embassy in Paris in order to get the Aiport Transit Visa or what do you recommend us?

You have no choice. Either that, or you have to change your flights and skip the US (like, by flying through the Caribbean). However, if you can, I'd recommend just applying for a B2 visa.

As I said, if you don't change the ticket to avoid the US, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE but to go to the US embassy in Paris to get a visa. I recommend the B2 instead of just the C1.

                          B2 Visa

The issue is that I bought a plane tickets and if I cancel it. Airfrance do not reinbustment and if I want to buy a new tickets they sell it in more than $3400 euros per person and we are 5 travellers. So we can not pay those tickets because is a lot of money. So pleease help us in order to find a solution. I have my American Visa 201220860630002 and I'm working in Mexico for a French Company. That'ts why we visited Paris because I'm in a seminar en Libourne. Sorry for try again but we need a consideration please.
