  • B2 Visa approved for both mother and father, is it okay if only mother visits?

    Hi,

    My father and mother both got B2 visa.
    But only my mother have to actually visit us.

    So the question is:
    Would it be a problem at port of entry if she only visits?
    Also, we have not yet booked the return ticket (only one way ticket booked) as return date is not final, will it create a problem?

    I appreciate if anyone can provide some helpful insights.

    Thanks.

    No, it won't be a problem if she visits alone.

    But one way ticket is;

    * On a visitor visa, Indian immigration and her carrier won't let her board if she carries a oneway ticket.

    *At US port of entry they often ask to look at the return ticket to make sure the person has
    the intent to return.
    So, book a 3 or 4 month return ticket for now. If she gets a longer stay at POE and wants to stay longer, she
    can extend it for a small fee.When they ask her the intended duration of her stay at POE she should say whatever the ticket shows.
