  • Visiting my GF with a B-2 Visa.

    Hello.

My girlfriend and I met online in October 2012. In June 2013, we were finally able to meet in person. I traveled to the US and spent 12 days with her and 2 days in NYC with my mother (mom traveled with me)...both of us with B-2 visas. The customs declaration form they gave us in the plane, we added the hotel where mom stayed in NYC. I stayed at the local inn at the hometown, where my girlfriend lives. We had no problems at all....the lady didn't ask for tickets, booking confirmations,etc.. nothing. She took our photos, collected our finger prints, stamped our passports and we were clear to go.

I am from Brazil, 27 and I work on my own. I have graduated from college and work as a freelancer attorney...still living with my family though.

We are planning to spend a longer time together next year. She wants me to stay between 3 - 4 months. I have no intentions of moving to the US, work or get married yet. On 2015, we plan to start the K-1 visa process.

The Custom and Border Protection interview is really worrying me. I'll probably be traveling alone this time and I know if I mention the purpose of my trip is to spend 4 months in the US with her, I'll be sent back home fast. Our relationship is the most precious thing in my life and I don't want to get denied or have a black mark on my name, when we start the K-1 process.

I have talked to a few people about it....some have told me to completely honest, others that I shouldn't mention my gf at all. I'm scared if I say I'll be spending 2 weeks in NYC (like last time), they will ask me to show where I'll be staying, plane tickets and such then be denied access for lying....

At the visa renewal interview, I mentioned my intention was tourism, showed my attorney id card and my bank account information...they didn't question anything (I didn't mention my gilrfriend at all)

What should I say to the custom's office? I plan to travel in March next year, but I'm already anxious and worried about it...I don't want to have unpleasant surprises and ruin this. We miss each other so much...

Any help, information or input would really be appreciated. She thinks I should say the same thing I did last time...but I'll be traveling alone...

    Thank you all.

You are unnecessarily worried. You stay was short in June 13 and there would be a 10 month interval between that visit and your march visit next year.
THat is good enough. If you stay too long and return quickly, that is when they question you. None of that happened with you. They will just ask you the purpose and duration; just say you are here on a 3 month sightseeing tour of US with your friend. There is nothing illegal about it and they won't send you back. People come alone for 6 month hiking and adventure trips, so do not worry. Just keep a confirmed return ticket for 3 months.

Will they find weird if I say I'll be staying with a friend? I'll have a confirmed return ticket, plus the round way train e-ticket with me.

      Thanks for the advice .
