Drop Box Related for 80 year old

My father is 80 year old and as per your information he is eligible for visa interview waiver program through drop box and my mother
who is a dependent and co-applicant (it is a joint family application) is 77 years old. Is she eligible to apply through
drop box along with my father. When I picked the drop box confirmation page, it printed the Applicant details, Bank Receipt Number.
Then also below it printed my mother as dependent. Could I submit both for my father who is 80 yr old and my mother who is about 77
years old both together to the drop box location at Hyderabad, India ? Or do I need to take appointment which is better, either way
I want to do both of them together if qualify for drop box or if appointment, then I will get my father and mother together. But I prefer
drop box option if my mother's also could be submitted along with my father. Since I am not sure what the rules are in this situation
from the consulates, I could not get enough information in the websites.

your dad is eligible for a drop box but your mother is not, simply because of the age criteria. It does not matter if she is a dependent.
So, the best thing to do is to take an interview appointment for both of them .
I assume he will be able to travel to the consulate since he is able to
travel to the US.

Initially I chose drop box option later I took the appointment for both.
The reason though they might be able to make it to the consulate, if not needed I wanted to use
the drop box option since one of them qualified straight away. I was wondering since husband and
wife together and filed jointly...whether they would consider being old. I searched in the internet
various sites could not find much on this. Anyway thanks for the information.
