  • does my B2 until valid, after I changed my B2 to F1?

    Hi,

    Does my B2 until valid, after I changed my B2 to F1?
    My case is that the first time I went to US with F1, then change the status to B2 in the US. Last May I finished the school, and I went back to my hometown . I am planning visit the US in the coming up April with my B2. And I would like to double check my B2 status if it is valid. I tried to call to the US immergation and even asked the "provide feedback" thing from their website, however, I still could not get the cleaner answer from them. So, I was wondering if anyone has same question, or anyone has a clue about this situation. Either where I can figure out my B2 status, or had same situation, that could share!

    Thank you very much and Thanks for your time!

    once you leave US , your B2 status is no longer valid. If you do not have a currently valid visa, you will not be able to enter. You will have to apply
    for a visa to enter as a visitor (B2).

        your original post is confusing;
        it first says you changed B2 to F1.
        Then you say you went to US with F1 and changed to B2.

        If you currently have a valid B1/B2 visa and you did not overstay your status the last time , you can use that visa .

          i am sorry!
          it should be "My case is that the first time I went to US with B2, then change the status to F1 in the US."
          So, when I change B2 to F1, it did not affect the B2, and as long as the B2 have not expired I can use that visa.
          is that correct?

            the only thing is you should have departed US before your F1 status expired.
            To be on the safer side, take with you documents showing changed status( new I-94 with F1 stamp) and proof of departure from US
            ( boarding passes/Indian entry stamp) when you enter US this time. If they question you , you can show them the details.
