  • Re Stamp US Visa On A New Passport

I have a US work visa of L1B category issued to me as 'FNU Khushboo', since i do not have a last name on my passport. If I do correct my passport and get a last name added (without marriage), a new passport will be issued to me and the old one will be cancelled and returned. In such a case, do I have to apply for the work visa again? Even if the visa is valid for the next 3 years? Or can I travel with both passports using the visa that has been issued to me on my first name alone? Is there anyone I can reach out to directly for more clarity? Thanks!

One need not go for visa re stamping if ones name changes. Carry both the passports as well as the one and same name affidavit.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
