  • visitors visa rejected, need advice.

I applied for a visitors visa. I was refused stating:
your family ties in USA and in your country of residence.
    What does this mean?
I am married with a son and I own a business.
My brother is a US citizen (in USA since 1982)and he own a business where he also work as a production manager and real Estate developer. He last visited in May 2003.
I stated to visit brother as my purpose of visit.
Do I reapply and state tourism? How do I overcome the reason of refusal.
    Thanks in advance.

I guess, it will not make much difference in "tourism" or " going to visit brother". Since your brother is a US citizen and your stated purpose
of visit was a casual meeting with him, it makes them suspect that
you may be planning to stay back in US with your bro's help. Really,
who would leave his running business in India to go all the way to US
just to meet his brother? If it was your whole family going on a vacation ,
it would make sense and if you were going on a purpose related
to your business , it would also make sense.
