  • Self sponsoring VISA.Will recent money transaction leads to rejection?

    Hi All,
Recently we had a baby boy in USA. And my parents would like to visit USA to see their grandson. However my H1B is in process. Hence I can not sponsor them VISA. The another option we are thinking of is apply them as self sponsoring VISA. For that I believe my parents have to show bank statement so that they can have sufficient funds to pay expenses for travel and for their stay in USA. I would like to transfer sufficient money to their bank accounts before applying B2 VISA. My specific question is,
If I do so since it becomes recent transaction that will lead any chances suspects and lead to rejection of VISA?

    Thanks and Regards,

Precisely for that reason they do not look at bank accounts.

For working people , the decision to self fund rests on their income ( yrly family income 10L+)
If they are retired, they should be able to tell the officer that they have strong deposits(15-20L)
( take proof of long term FDs / other investments though they rarely look at anything).

If none of the above, then they should wait till your visa issue is straightened and you can sponsor.
Once denied, chances decrease the next time. So it is better to wait than rush into it if conditions are not right.

      Ramesh,

Congrats on the new baby! Parents can self sponsor. Transfer the money to their India savings account and have them transfer this to an active checking to be used as evidence. Family reunification is welcomed under USCIS rules. They should not have any problems. Just ensure they carry medical insurance.

      All the best
