  • Help! applying for b2 visa after divorce with valid h4

I currently have a valid h4 visa till OCT,2014. However I left the US in december because I was not on good terms with my husband. I came back to my home country only for my husband to file for divorce. I want to go back to the US. Can you help with the options available for me.
From what I found out i could risk going back with my h4 visa, however I would not have access to my husband's H1B documents and I might risk denial at the port of entry.

I could also apply for another visa preferably a B1/B2 visa. What are my chances of getting a visitor's vis given my situation. P.S the divorce will take sometime in my home country

You are allowed to travel on a valid H-4. However, if taken aside at port of entry to evaluation cell for further questions, do not be nervous. State the facts clearly that your visit is to attempt reconciliation or end matters with estranged husband. Please make sure you have clear answers on where you will be staying etc and if you will be able to live on your own. All this may not be required as a stamped H-4 is a simple, valid travel document. Hope things get better for you.

Hi Thanks for the information. My problem is would I still be allowed entry as he has changed jobs?I just want to be well informed before I make this decision as I know denial at the entry could lead me barred for 10 years.
