  • Visitor Visa - Queries on Property docs

    Hi All,

I am applying visitor visa for my parents and had the following queries :

    1) My parents property documents are in local language. Should these documents be translated to English? If my parents take a translator for interview, then can they avoid translating these documents?
    2) Should the personal affidavit paper be on stamp paper or on CA letter head? If it has to be on CA letter head, does it needs to be notarized?
    3) Should the original supporting documents (property, bank FD) be carried or will photocopy suffice?
    4) If my parents have to carry original, then do they also have to carry a photocopy of them. The reason I am asking is that does the VO asks for a copy to keep?
    5) My dad speaks English but my mon doesn't. So, it better to take interview in English or use a translator for both of them.

Any help for these queries will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for your help.

these days decisions are made without them looking at any documents most of the time.
and property papers, FDs do not carry much weight. For their own satisfaction they can take the original papers with a translation.
No need for any copies. they do not keep anything.
they should opt for an interview in the local language. These days people opting for local lanauage interviews are
assigned to american officers who are fluent in local language( eg. tamil, hindi) as well ( no interpreters required).
about personal affidavit, no such thing is required.
