Re-Visiting USA within a month on Visitor visa due to close relative's demise

My parents stayed in US for 6 months that is till March 2014, unfortunately my brother-in-law passed away in US few weeks before they left to India so they are planning to come back to US for another 6 months to stay with my sister. My question is can they comeback within a month, will this be considered an exception case. Appreciate any thoughts.

They will have to convince the officer with the death certificate or some other proof of the tragedy;
it is very likely they will be allowed in.
But most likely for a shorter stay . All depends on the admitting officer.
