  • Visitor visa for 9 year old nephew

My Nephew (9 years old) and my sister-in-law are applying for B2 visa.

Q1- Does my Nephew need to attend the Visa Interview?

Q2- My sister-in-law would be attending the visa interview as she is an applicant. But my brother not applying. Does he need to attend as parent for my Nephew's case?

Q3- If my brother needs to attend interview as parent for 9-year-old applicant - how do we schedule his appointment as he is not an applicant?

    Many Thanks.

for nephew, interview is not mandatory but since mother is going so she should take an appointment for him as well. And if dad is not attending the interview, they will need an NOC from dad that he has no objection for the child to visit US with mother. If dad also wants to go for the interview even if he is not applying, this is possible. Call the stanley center, they will tell you how to do this.

Thanks for the quick response. If my brother does not attend the interview - he is giving his NOC. Does the NOC need to be prepared on Stamp paper/notarized?

      Many Thanks.

I think it is on a plain paper. Call and Make sure with the visa center.

Hi Pushpa, Can you pls advise how the visa interview went?
            Hi,
I am also in the same case. My nephews are going with sister-in-law and my brother is not going.

            1) So the Kids also should go (or) not with to the visa interview.
            2) Can I give one Invitation letter for all 3 and also one letter for consulate for all 3?
            3) From Kids side I will give a NOC from my brother ( kids Father)
            4) do I need to have anything from the kids side ?

            Please help me.
