HEllo all,
Thanks for maintaining such an informative website. I have a question. I read that the form DS 156 has to be filled by the applicant. In this case, my parents are the applicants and I am sponsoring them. Since it can be filled online, is it possible for me to fill it for them and send it by mail to them. I do not think that they are able to fill it themselves. ( I do know that there is regular application...but if at all possible I want to use the online option).

What do i fill for column 40 of DS-156??

Hi,
I, will be filling the online application form on behalf of my parents and I will be sponsoring them.
As per www.immihelp.com I can fill the online application on behalf of my parents and mark "YES" for column# 39 of DS-156.
What do I fill in column# 40 of DS-156????
Do I need to fill my address,name,relationship to applicant,sign it and send it to my parents.....or should i leave this column blank as the website also says this column is only for lawyers,consultants
Its bit ambiguos to me. Can some one please guide me...

Please advise - DS 156 - Question 39 and 40

I am filling out the DS 156 for my parents and trying to schedule an appointment in Tamil language. Because my parents don’t speak or write in English, they barely understand it.

In this situation, I should check “Yes” for the question “39. Was this Application Prepared by Another Person on Your Behalf? (If answer is YES, then have that person complete item 40.)” – correct?

Since it clearly stated that if Q39 is checked Yes then I should fill out the question 40 – correct?

Please advise me in this regard and thanks in advance.
