Rejection and entry ban in uk. can I get USA B2 visa

I was in UK from 2005 till 2010 on student visa. Did not study and was refused visa renewal by UK border agency in 2008. Then appealed in UK for the refusal but did not attend the court. Came back in 2010.
Actually, me and my wife love international travelling and now we are applying to USA visa for tourism only. We had visited US in 1997 and came back after 3weeks.
Does my UK record will affect US B2 travel visa? It is true we were asked to leave UK by the UK Govt. After expiry of visa and we came back on our own. No overstay or anything illegal.
