Tourist visa to Central Government Employee

Hi All,

I am working as a scientist with central government department in New Delhi. Actually I was planning to apply for US tourist visa as my brother who living in US on H1 Visa. Generally US is giving 10 years multiple entry tourist visa. Many of my colleagues informed me that US is issuing tourist visa with only 1 year validity to scientific/ Intelligence community persons working with Government. Is this information is true? If any one have information related to same kindly provide the guidance.

Also ,if approved, your case MAY go into administrative processing which can take some time.

US is issueing visitor visa validity depends on the nationality of the applicant. US issues visitor visa with 10 years of validity to Indians. In case of Indians, still they do any dicrimination for visa validity depends on applicant's nature of work or other criteria??

rarely though , some Indians get as short as 3 month validity with single entry. Depends on their nature of work and background.
