  • Can I take my child to india without PIO with travel visa?

My child born in USA. We applied for his PIO last month. But they send it back unnecessary. We have to travel to india in June. I read that we can get travel visa earlier than PIO. So can we apply for travel visa?
Can we travel to india through any other country using that visa without PIO?

Please help me so that I can apply for anyone early.

yes, apply for an Indian visa on the website ww.in.ckgs.us

why was the pio application returned?

you want to travel through which country ( is it only for changing planes or you want to enter that country with the child)?

      Thanks for your reply.
I applied for PIO in April month. Even though electricity bill was attached they put a query for address proof.
So we send that doc twice through email twice for which we got confirmation as received.
But status didn't changed. So we send through post for which also we got confirmation as received.

But in 1 week, we got our application back without demand draft.
      Such a pathetic service...

Yes and I just need to change my planes through other countries.
I got this query because I saw someone's draft online in which he faced issue while traveling without PIO.

One more thing I want to know.
I read somewhere that person having residential property in India can't get this visa.
There is nothing on my child's name but one flat on his father name.
      Is it allowed?

A US passport holder should not have problems transiting through a country which does not require a visa for US citizens.

About Indian visa requirements, I am sorry you will have to research yourself on Indian high commission website.
