  • Renewal of visitor visa for parents after 10 yrs ( going to be expired)

    Hello,

    Just want to see if i understand correctly from the document for renewal of visitor visa for parents

    Currently they have 10 yrs visa B1/B2 visitor visa valid till 30 May 2015.

    There visa was issues on 31st may 2015.

    I wish to apply back in the same category do they qualify for INTERVIEW WAIVER PROGRAM ? The answer are yes for the below checklist
    My most recent visa was issued in India
    I received my visa after August 1, 2004
    My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received” or “Department Authorization”.
    My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was not lost or stolen.
    My most recent visa (in the same class for which I am applying) was issued on or after my 14th birthday
    I have no refusals for a visa in any category after my most recent visa issuance
    I have a previous U.S. visa in the same class as the visa for which I wish to renew;
    If I am applying for a B1/B2, C1D, or J visa, my prior visa in the same classification is still valid or expired within the last 48 months;

    Yes, they are eligible for interview waiver;

    but
    a)you must remember some interview waiver applicants do get called for an interview later.
    b)why do you wish to renew their visa one year too early? There is always a risk for
    denial and if they get denied they will lose the remaining one year as well.
