    what is your birth country?
the best way is to take an estimate of the arrival of your visa number in F1 category for your birth country.
as in the latest VISA BULLETIN posted by the state department . I have made a cut and paste for your category below.
The dates below mean that visa numbers are currently available for priority dates before the dates shown.
Priority date is the date given to you by USCIS when your I-130 is correctly filed.
If you are a birth national other than phillipines or mexico, then you are looking at another 7 yrs for your visa number. It can go up or down depending on future
    demand for this category.

The processing times you are looking at are only the estimated times for USCIS to approve your petition. After petition approval your petition goes to the National Visa Center and waits for an available visa slot. It generally takes 6 months to a year for the petition approval, but your overall waiting time for an available visa slot will be 7-11 years (depending on your country of residence).
