Tourist Visa B2 Utilization

My parents got B2 visa in March-2014 from India for 10 years and due unavoidable situation they would not be able to travel to US this summer.

I have heard from someone that if my parents do not travel to US withing 6 months of visa issues date, their visa will be voided and they would not be able to travel to US in future. Is this correct?

I could not find such information on USCIS website. Appreciate your help to understand the utilization period of B2 visa with validity of 10 years.

baseless myth

This is a myth and I do not know where it came from .

On my 10 yr B1/B2 , I personally made my first trip ,5 years after it was issued.
Without any problems.

You can start using it anytime during its validity.
