  • Address in Indian Passport for DS160

    Question:
The Indian passport made in 2006 has an old address. The address has been changed multiple times since then. Does it matter passport address is given in DS-160 when applying for B2-Visitor visa? Or Just the current home and mailing address should be provided, which doesn't match with the addres in Passport.

DS-160 does not say to anywhere that address should match with the one in Passport. Does it make any case for rejection?

    Quick reply is appreciated, thanks!

      Hi!

Usually you should mention your permanent address as it is in your passport. If I'm not wrong the DS-160 also contains a field for mentioning the current address. You can use that field.

It need not match. No one can expect one to continue staying at one place throughout their passport lifetime.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

The Passport Address and your current address specified in DS 160 need NOT be same. You should provide the address where you live now
