They mainly take decisions from what you write on the form.

marital status- widow. any one traveling with you--- NO. any immediate relatives--- brother US citizen.

these were the 3 factors that brought the denial and they were reported on the form. the officers did not need to ask your mother.

So she cannot write married when she wrote widow last time. Unless she actually remarries. Do Not give false info. it will result in a permanent bar.

In your previous message you suggested that a big event will help mom to get visa plus if me and my brother apply along. Is it possible for them to track them if there is actually an event like marriage? Can they trace how old mom's niece and if she is really getting married or not?

I just meant to ask how we can show proof of any upcoming big event or an invitation will be enough stating about marriage invitation.

they will want to see the wedding card and they can ask follow up questions in an indirect manner to confirm.
