  • After few weeks

    Hi,

I am getting married in coming weeks with US citizen in Pakistan (She is in US and arriving soon for marriage). As per our planning she will apply for my green card immediately then after K-3 visa so we can live together while green card is in process. K-3 visa may take even 6 months or so, meanwhile I am planning to move Riyadh for job. Please guide me accordingly and specially where they will ask me to present for K-3 visa interview?

Anything else if you feel is important in this case.

    Rgds

K3 visa takes about the same time as the real immigrant visa and is more cumbersome .
My suggestion is to avoid K3 and just let your spouse file an I-130 in US making a choice in the form for your immigrant visa interview in Riyadh.

Great to know if I am allowed to present in US consulate in Riyadh because I have heard that you have to present yourself where original marriage took place. There is another visa CR-1, I don’t know much about it but can you please check if it is more suitable. You said real immigrant Visa, what real immigrant visa is? I will directly get green card ?

        Zain,

You do not have to be interviewed where the marriage took place. You can be interviewed wherever you have legal residency or citizenship.

Again...also, forget about the K3. There is only one spousal immigrant visa which fits your prerequisites, and that is the CR-1. Your wife has the option of submitting an I-130 for your CR-1 visa, then folllowing up with an I-129F for a K3 visa, which will subsequently be approved, but won't be forwarded to the NVC and your interviewing consulate.
