Renewal of son B1/B2 visa

I along with my wife and son Got B1/B2 visa in Sep 2007. We went to USA in Sep 2011 and filed for change of status to L1 (for myself) and L2 (for my wife and 8 year old Son) which got approved for 1 year. Afterwards we applied for Renewal of L1 and L2, meanwhile due to my family commitment we withdraw our L1 renewal petition and return to our home country in 2013.
Now I want know as my son got 5 years B1/B2 visa it got expired in Sep 2012 when we were in US. Now do we have to take his fresh B1/B2 visa or can we apply for Renewal of B1/B2 through Drop box? What is the procedure?

you can use the drop box provided you use the same consulate for the application. SInce you people changed status from that visa , it is very likely that
your son will be called for the interview even if you apply via the drop box.

Renewal of son B1/B2

Thanks for the reply. I am bit confused whether I can apply for his my son's renewal of B1/B2 through Drop box or do I have to apply for his fresh visa. as we changed the status from B1/B2 to L2.

If I am applying for his renewal of B1/B2 visa through drop box do you think he will get it? as we changed his previous visa from B1/B2 to L2 after going to USA ( L2 was approved in USA. and the L2 renewal was pending and we withdrew the petition and came back to our home-country)

fresh or renewal , it is the same procedure. The only difference is ,in 'renewal' you will have to mention in the form that you had a visa and its number.

Like I said, it is very likely he will be called for the interview because you people changed status. And status change the visa officers do not like.

renewal of son B1/B2

Hello,

If we submit my son's application for B1/b2 in Drop box or if we are called for Interview . do you think we can get his B1/b2 visa . as mention earlier we changed our b1/b2 status to L1.
and is it possible that if they deny him visa, they can even cancel my visa and my wife's B1/b2 visa(as we will submit our passport for his renewal). our b1/b2 is good till Sep. 2017.

please suggest how do we go further.

it is possible he could be denied. But there is no mandatory requirement for you to submit your passport . And even if they do ask for your passport to look at
at the interview, I do not think they can cancel your or your wife's visa. Because your passport is not in the application system at this time.
That said, trends in the visa section can change . So talk to a good immigration attorney before applying for your son's visa.

I need to take one more opinion. when we were in USA and our L1 petition was approved our attorney suggested to file Green card . and as our L1 was approved we thought to go for Green card filing . But, unfortunately our Green card was Denied . and with his suggestion we filed for appeal for our denial. but , as we had to come back to our home country. we withdrew our petition for appeal for green card with our L1 petition.

Now my question is does the filing of Green card or the denial of it will effect applying the Renewal of my sons B1/b2 visa.
