  • had K1. now need tourist visa. HELP!

    Hello everyone,
If anyone could please give me a little bit of advice on this. I'm a Brazilian citizen. I have had tourist visas all my life never got denied and always visited and came back within the legal time. I also had a student visa, and did that very well too. Later I got sponsored for H1b for a company in the US. Had a very good job. They filed i140 for my green car which got approved. 7 years later, when my priority date become current, I decided I no longer needed a green card because I did not want to work for that company anymore. I wanted to go to medical school abroad. I got accepted to a very good program in London. I left the US within the legal time too and traveled the world for a year. During this time, I met this guy, fell in love, he proposed, I accepted. He traveled the rest of the world with me and we did not know what to do because he did not want to move to London. And I had medical school starting, so I had to be there, no other choice. We talked and he convinced me that I should move back to the US and just apply to medical school there. I left everything for my school in London ready to go as a backup just in case and applied for a fiancé visa with the intention of staying in the US. Got that very quickly. Got to the US on K1, found out it was going to be basically impossible to get to medical school anytime soon (at least 2 years). Then We both decided to postpone the wedding and that his job allows him to work remotely and it would be easier for him to come with me instead and he would follow me and I could get started with my
Very Long medical career. Now he is in the US getting ready to come here. I'm enrolled in medical school and have 4 years to go here. My 30,000 euro tuition for the year is already paid for. I have a car here, a lease on an apartment for 1 year. And an American fiancé who will come join me soon. But now my best friend in the US is getting married. I'm basically her brother. So I'm supposed to walk her down the aisle. It would mean the world to us if this were to happen. I need a tourist visa just to go to the US for the weekend, be part of the wedding and then come back here (I have to continue my studies).
I'm wondering if I explain this situation to the consular officer, is that ok? Is it hard for me to get a tourist visa at this point because I've had a fiancé visa (didn't marry and left US 30 days after being admitted on K1) and still am with my American fiancé? I've had 2 opportunities to have a green card in the US but have no plans of living there. If my plan was to immigrate at this point I would have just stayed with my fiancée or stayed at my company and get a green card. Plans have changed and my fiancée will be with me instead and I have a very long medical career outside of the US.
Does that sound reasonable? Or am I gonna get a visa denied and a 214b?
I can't believe it had come down to this.
