Enquiry for Advice B1/B2

Good day Sir/madam, please I need your advice here. My wife has B1/B2 visa and has travelled on business to The state twice. I have travelled b4 to uk ( schooled in uk ) now planing to accompany my wife by next vist that is January 2015. What advice can you give based on this? Does her visa enable me to apply for B2 and accompany her. Thank you. Waiting for quick responce.

Hi,

Your wife's B1/B2 will not help you to get B1/B2. If your sole purpose is to go to the US to be with your wife & tour around, you need to apply for B2 visa. You can do it independently and need no formal support. Its a very straight forward & simple process.

1. Fill up the DS - 160, Visa application.
2. Gather all your supporting documents (mostly showing your financial status). The VO needs assurance that you will return back to India and are not going to stay back. They need to see that you have sufficient ties and money/property back here.
3. Schedule your appointments (online).
4. Attend the interview and you should easily get the visa.

I am a telecoms enginner and my salary monthly is 120k roughly and beside have oother source of income from personal installation .

@illuminati. She only goes for business to buy goods and return back to nigeria. Right now she just return 2 days ago and her next trip is January to get stuffs against Easter period and I want to take my leave and go with her.

B2 Visa

@Bim Banjoh - You mention that your wife visits the US only for Business/purchase goods. So, if I understand correctly, you want to take time off from your work and join your wife to the US during her next visit. And you would like to visit some of the US attractions.

You will need to apply for the B1/B2 visa. Your wife having a visa will not brighten your chances. Your application/case will be considered as a stand alone & individual one. But the income and stuff that you mention should be more than sufficient to make your case pretty strong.

IMO - as long as you have proper documents (financial/property etc). And clear about your visit purpose. You should pretty easily get the B2 Visa.

US wants tourists to visit their country.

you have a stable job and very good income. So , in my opinion, you can apply to accompany your wife. Just take these to the interview;
a copy of her visa, proof of her business purpose to US, proof of your employment and salary ( pay stub/salary slip) and proof of your leave.

Hotel Reservation & Invitation

You will not need these. Mention your purpose as tourism and to visit US attractions.

However I would recommend that decide on the places you would like to visit. And provide the VO, your high level itinerary. This should help.
