  • Visitor Visa For Central Govt Servant

    Hello,

I am applying for Visitor visa for my parents. We had already applied in 2010 for their visa but it was rejected twice. They both were working at that time and now are now retired since last one year. They both want to visit here for house warming party in Nov 1st week. They are going to self sponsor. I read all the necessary info on your website and have following question.

Question: My Dad worked in Ordnance Factory of Govt Of India which makes arms and immunization for Indian army. I spoke with few people and they said it is very hard to grant visa for people who worked for such factories. Is that true? I just want to make clear that he never worked in those jobs of making arms...he was working as mechanic in some section.

How do you explain this more clearly in DS160 so that it will convince visa officer????

    Thanks,
    Sasha

I do not think just being an employee of an ordinance factory can be an absolute reason for denial. Such cases are placed under 221g ( admin processing) and
    can be cleared.

Please post the interviews the last two times whatever they can recall.
also how many children do they have , and do they have any in India?

      Thanks peace999,

Below are the questions they asked in their initial interview in 2010:

Q: Who are your relatives in USA?
A: My daughter and son in law
Q: (To my dad) What is your job?
A: "job title" in Ordinance factory
Q: Is your daughter working in USA?
      A: No
Q: Who is sponsoring your visa?
      A: My Son in law

I have two sisters who will still be in India after they come here for visit.

      Thanks,
      Sasha

It is just one of those cases where there is no rational reason for denial.
All they can do is keep trying.

As purpose, just mention " visiting daughter". Housewarming party sounds frivolous.
Also, make sure they have good savings for self funding. If not, your husband can sponsor again.
Keep the duration mentioned in the form reasonable like 6-8 weeks NOT 5-6 months.
