Hi, I'm hoping you can help me with my situation... I am currently a US Citizen and unemployed. My husband is a legal Resident and he works full time. Do I have to sponsor his mom, brother and niece to visit the US since I'm a US Citizen, or can he sponsor them on his own. I do work (for a close friend of mine) and gets paid cash.

Also, I want to know what I need to start the application. They are coming from the Island and will only be here for the month of December and will return back by January.

He can and should sponsor them. You do not need to be a citizen to sponsor someone.

Also, remember that for visa success, sponsorship alone is not enough. The officer will look at each applicant's ties to home country to make sure
he/she will return. Young , single people should show student or work ties as they are the most suspect to stay back in US. Also , what about his dad?
