Tourist visa from denmark. Why was passport held back

Hi i went today and applied for a tourist visa in denmark. I am originally from romania but work and live in denmark. After the interview the vo held my passport and said i will get it back in about 1 week.
The fact that my passport was held back is that a good sign? I know the visa is not yet granted however the fact that she took my passport should it be encouraging ?

I think she said that if everythink that i said adds up i will get the visa, i say "i think" just because my english is not great.

Please advise, is holding your passport normal regardless of the result?

These days some passports are held back because they do "admin. processing" . Some more background checks. If they had denied you the visa,
he would have returned you the passport right then.
