Visitor Visa end date question ?

MY mom has 10 years multi-entry visitor visa (B2-Visa). She is here since July-2005. This is her first visit & expires on Jan-3rd 2006. But we bought ticket the return date is Jan-4th 2006. Since I-94 is valid only till Jan-3rd, if she flies back on Jan-4h, is it considered as over-staying ? Do I need to apply extension even for one day ?

Hi!

I would suggest you to call the airline and prepone the trip by 2 days or so. Most airlines don't charge to reschedule. So soon the better to try becoz of peak travel season.

Rescheduling the ticket is better than applying for extension for just one day.

YES.If she flies out on jan 4, it will be an overstay and her visa will
automatically get cancelled.

STRONGLY ADVISED: BOOK AN EARLIER DATE EVEN IF IT COSTS YOU
SOME MONEY , EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO SPEND ON ANOTHER AIRLINE.
BECAUSE IF SHE OVERSTAYS BY EVEN ONE DAY , HER VISA WILL BECOME
VOID AND SHE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET ANOTHER VISA BECAUSE
OF THE OVERSTAY.
