Ds 156 And Ds 157 Issue

Dear sir/Madam,


My parents have and B2 visa interview on 10th january,chenna consulate.

Firstly details of my parents and their information im writing it down ,they are:-



FATHER NAME:-HIRALAL JAIN(given name in passport);
MOTHER NAME:-KAMALA BAI JAIN(gven name in passport);


During filling DS 156 form on vfs website ,we made two mistakes they are:-



1.my parents both mother and father do not have surname in passport and we filled wrongly their full name(hiralal jain and kamala bai jain) in surname column(i.e.. question no :6), and also filled their fulll name again in first and middle name column(.i.e.. question no:7)

2.In DS 157 we filled last and first name column(i..e..question no:1 and 2) of my parents from given name in passport(eg: hiralal (first name)jain (last name) and kamala(first name) and jain (last ame))



CAN YOU PLEASE SUGGEST ME AS HOW TO CORRECT THESE ,WHAT TO DO ,AND HOW CAN THESE BE RESOLVED .i REQUEST YOU TO PLEASE REPLY ME SOON.tHANKYOU VERY MUCH.

not a good idea to give out such confidencial details on any website. Do edit your msg if you can.

Also if you want your dad's name to be like the way you have filled out in the DS157 then you can get an observation done on the passport saying his given name is Harila and surname is Jain. And similarly with your mom.

Observation can be done in a day and I think costs Rs300-500.

what is observation?is it something done in passport office?

Yes observation is done by the passport office. On one of the pages of your passport they would state that your given name is YYYY and surname is YYY.

Just ask at your local passport office and they will help you.
