Parents VISA issue

My mother got 10 year multiple. But her name on the VISA was typed wrong. We were asked to put the Passport in a drop box for correction.

But i did not understand whther we are supposed to post it or go to chennai again drop it in some kind of box they have set up for these kind of things???

Also are we supposed place a letter about the issue we have, Otherwise how would they know what we are want to be corrected?

Are there any example docs for this? Please point me to them and please clarify these questions for me.

You were asked by whom to use the drop box????

Well when this happened to my mom we had sent an email to the Consulate and they asked us to use the drop box. Drop box is not exactly a box.....it means you can get it done without having to be there personally. I had booked my mom's appt through TTS so walked to their local TTS office submitted the passport along with a request letter and also the copy of the email reply from the Consulate.
