  • Regarding Sponsoror

    Hi Friends,

I am sponsorting my in-laws for visiting USA on visitor visa. Following is our status.
My father in law is retired.
My husband is self employed and having valid EAD. He is only son. His sister is in india and she is married.
My visa (L1) is expired and i am staying on I-94 which is valid till 2007.

    My questions,
    1) What should we enter in point 28 in DS 156 'Who will pay for your trip?' to make the case stronger?. Will it help if he puts that they(my in laws) will bear that expense themselves?
    2) Point 8 in I-134, asks dependent on me. I have specified no dependents. Do i need to produce proof of income for my husband to support that he is not dependent. As he is self employed and we have not yet filled IT return in USA, what could be produced as proof of his income? Will his bank statement work?
    3) Do we need to send copy of his EAD? or will it confuse?
    4) Do you find any complications in my case like my visa is expired and i am sponsoring on the basis of I-94? Could any typical questions arise for this?

All your kind responses will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

If ur hus. has enough income, he can sponsor. Just show his bank acct stmts, letter from bank, his tax returns etc... If he is sponsoring, he has to send copies of his EAD.

As far as I know, there is no issue in sponsoring in-laws if u have a valid I-94.

        Thanks for reply.

My husband is not sponsoring but i am sponsoring my in laws. So do i need to provide his income and EAD statement or will it create confusion?

        Thanks.

If u are sponsoring, no need to send copies of his EAD or income stmts. Make sure u send HIS original birth cert. and ur marriage cert.
