Original Visa Expired but I-94 admission date is till Feb 2016

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum and would like to know if I can travel to United states based on my I-94 admission date? My visa has been expired. Border officer has extended my date of stay in united states the last time when I entered into USA. I was wondering if I can still re-enter to the country with valid I-94 admission date.

You need valid visa to enter US. I94 is not the document used to enter US.

No, you would not be able to travel to the U.S. If you had been in the U.S. with active I-94 dates and your visa expired during those active dates, you could stay until the expiration of the I-94 dates without going out of status. However, you left the U.S..

You will have to apply for a new visa. You cannot travel here without one. The visa is what gives someone permission to travel here to the port of entry. Then once you arrive the officer determines how long you would be allowed to stay (I-94 dates).
