DS-156 question

I sent my parents DS-156 forms, I made a mistake in 40th question, instead of putting mm-ddd-yyyy, I wrote dd/mm/yyyy. I realized after sending the docs to my parents. I have very less time now, can my parents over write the date? or is it better to have new DS-156 form?

I believe Qn 40 is "Application Prepared By:" the date in this case is AUTO generated if u took appt online through VFS and its format is dd-mmm-yyyy (like 23-Dec-2005)

I amnot sure how you got mm-ddd-yyyy

You are correct, the date format in the DS-156 is dd-mmm-yyyy. I took the appointment thru TTS (before Oct 2005), so I filled the online DS-156 and the date is not auto generated. When I signed I wrote the date in mm/dd/yyyy format.

My question is can my parents correct this date manually? Please advise.

Yes, that should be fine. To make it better, print a blank form back to back on samepage and manullay fill it out and put the correct date on it. Let the officer know abt this correction as well.
