Mumbai Consulate Interview

My parents have an Appt today(23rd Jan) at 10:30 am. They arrived at the consulate precisely on time to find a long line. Turns out ppl with 9:00 am appt. are waiting in the line outside the consulate. BY 11;00 am they sorted out ppl with different appt slots into different lines. Each line is pretty long. Lets see when do my parents get to go inside the consulate from the scorching Mumbai heat.
I was surprised that even after taking gr8 pains to take the appts thru VFS, sending in the entire documents and application 2 months ahead of time to the consulate still ppl have to spend hours standing in lines outside the consulate in heat, on pavements among road side gravel !!!

I am going for my interview with my kids to Mumbai consulate on 25th Jan and read you report it looks like it is going to be a long wait!!! Do tell us was the outcome is????

Got visa

Yes they got to go inside by 12:15, they were fingerprinted and their fee reciept and passport were taken from them. They had to wait for a short period and were called at the booth.
Only 5 questions asked :
1. To mom - where do u work ? wat position u hold there ?(my mom's school teacher)
2. To papa - where do u work ? wat position u hold there ?
3. who stays in US (son-in-law & daughter)
4. What do they do (daughter homemaker, son-in-law s/w engg)
5. What Co. son-in-law works in and in which city ?

Don;t know duration and type (multiple/single) of visa yet, wud know when they collect their passports in the eve.

This website is very helpful in info as well as moral building. Thanks to everybody who answered my questions and also to those who honestly posted details abt their experiences.

No, didn't ask for a single document. I was expecting them to ask for mom's Leave Sanction letter in original in the least but nope, not a single doc.
