I had the same situation as well. My parents got 1 yr visa the last 2 times they went to consulate. Now she did not ask any questions and rejected...under 214b. 214b means lack of ties in home country..however i dont understand how will they get to know what the applicant has in home country unless they see any of the docs they presented to the VO.

      Hi!

214b is they see the applicant as a potential immigrant . You would have to show strong ties to India the next time you apply.

In ur letter to consulate, mention as bullet points the reasons why she will go back. Mention everything u can think about..Hopefully the officer will read the letter. Ur mom can request the officer to read the letter before the interview. rest is luck.

Every time the application is evaluated independently. You must prove the stong ties to home country to CO.

if the visa appt is for ur mom only, then nobody can accompany her during interview. So better take local lang. appt only.

Its not ok. If the officer asks something ur mom, then its a problem. She will be asked to come back again with local lang. appt.

Those who takes regional language appointment, their interpreter will be an Consulate official. No one is allowed to accompany any applicants to do translation.

Before you take the appointment you must know this.
