I am a US Citizen and met my wonderful Ukrainian fiance while both of us were employed musicians on a cruise ship...
She was approved for a 10 year B2 visitors visa to the USA and was given a 6 month stay by immigration officers. We only planned her to be here for 3 months during this summer, but during that time I proposed to her and are discussing the best option to marry and become a legal resident. After 3 months of visiting, (06/15 - 09/15) she has returned back to Ukraine.
It seems to be a very stressful, long, and expensive process to marry and apply for legal residency in the US. What is the best way to marry my fiance and have her put on the path to legal residency without spending many excruciatingly long lonely months apart? I hate the idea that we may be forced to be 6 or more months apart just to wait for a fiance visa, or spend thousands in travel to and from for short periods of time just to see each other while we wait. How can we be together during this process?
Could I marry in her country, then apply for all the necessary forms? Any help would be much appreciated!
