  • Tourist Visa denied thrice

    Hi,

My mom who is a widow, home maker, in her late forties has been denied Visa at her third attempt tooin October 2005.Every time they gave her different reasons for denial.
Second time was 'insufficient funds' third time was 'apply as an immigrant after your daughter becomes citizen' .My sister's PR is still in process.

She has again applied for Tourist Visa for April 2006. She's deeply depressed and frustrated. Now we all the three are in the US,in october 's interview she told the officer that one daughter is in India, but when even the third left on student Visa in August 2005.

    Now,To prepare for her interview,

1.Should she maintain that one daughter is India, or tell them the truth?
2.She prefers it to be 'self-sponsor' for who's paying for the trip ,will this decision be okay or it should be daughter sponsor ?
3.If it's self-sponsor how much bank balance should she have ?
4.If its daughter sponsor how much bank balance shoud the sponsor in the US have ?
And finally would any one get the Vsa in the fourth attempt ?or is it waste of money and the efforts /hopes ?.
Pls guys pls help me out ,i request someone to be kind enough to let me know all these details ,we all are so frustrated coz my mom is all alone by herself in India.
    Thanks in advance.

You are in the wrong thread to get answers

    Hi sujit,

First of all, I would like to info you that you are in the wrong thread. Move to the right thread (B1/B2 Thread)

Answer to 1st question: You have to tell the truth because they maintain global database. Tell the truth.
    2. I really don't know, please take help from others and forum.
    3. If self sponsor, then she need to show bank balance, property and may be monthly income with bank statements.
    4. If daughter is sponsoring then her daughter should show a bank balance of at least 15 K bank balance for last 6 months.
She should continue her attempts to get visa. If anyone of you have a H1 should try to sponsor her and preferrably Son should do that.

My Mother-in-law is trying to get her visa and she will be taking appointment for 3rd attempt this year.

Best of luck to your mom,
    Regards
    Satish
