  • GF's B2 Visa rejected once, wants to reapply

    Hello all,

I am a US citizen currently working in China, wanted to apply a visa for my gf to do some traveling in December when she has her annual leave. She was rejected.

Day of interview went like this:
Officer: Why are you going to US?
    Her: to travel
    Officer: With who?
    Her: with my boyfriend
Officer: (shakes her head and sighs) who is paying for this trip?
Her: my boyfriend is, he is US citizen
Officer: Are you married, and do you have any children?
    Her: no
Officer: sorry you are not eligible to go to US.

The officer did not ask for any documents to be seen and my gf did not provide any documents for them to see at the interview.

    She has:
She has her job, salary, position stamp of proof. It is only a sales position and low income, but it is with a big retail chain company.
A sponsoring letter from myself guarantee her stay and leave, Dec 7 to Dec 15, which is her annual leave that is allowed with the company.
She has a December work schedule that shows her annual leave and travel itinerary.
She has family photos (father, mother, brother, sister) and their household register.

My question is, we want to reapply again, I suppose this time would be harder, with these information do you think we can reapply again? Actually showing the officer these information this time?
We really just want to tour around Los Angeles, and come back, as I work in China currently.

    Thanks in advance

It wil be tough no matter what but in the first time they thought she would go there and stay get married etc. She should definitely state that you are working in China and have to come back. If you can go with her maybe you can have a say. It depends on consulates sometimes they let 2 of you go together.

      Thanks for the reply!

After doing some research and reading, there's only a slim chance someone would get a pass on second chance.

Not sure if we're both allowed in at the same time, if I can get in, that would be a huge plus. There's a section for US citizen that goes on the left side while the Visa appointments goes to the right side so I doubt they will let me in with her.

Btw, she is only 19 as well, that might be a factor that they didn't let her pass.

Still debating whether or not to try again, but if there's not a great chance the officer would even see the documents on this second time, there's no meaning to go again...

      Thanks
