  • visa not issued. confusion

    Hi,
My parent's attended visa interview for the 2ed time @ channei usa consulate. 1st time visa was rejected on the basis on potencial immigrant.

This time my parents answered all the questions. Interviewer took the passport and the DD's(fee) and told that they are not able to issue the visa @ this time and told our parent to fill up some questionier(about 14 Question) relevent to my dad's job and email to them later. Interviewer told that they will make the decision in about 4 week after receiving the Questionier Email.

Do anyone had the similar experience??

Will they issue the visa or not

    Thanks in advance

In that case, just do as what they instructed and wait for the reply.

Same here. My in-laws had their interview on Monday and they got the same questionnaire. My FIL works for Defense(DRDL) and most of his colleagues who applied for visitor visas had the same experience. Does your FIL or MIL work in a similar line?

Well, all we can do now is send the email and wait for the response.

Does it matter where we send this email from. I am planning to email the consulate with all the details given by my FIL on his behalf(from his email address ofcourse!). Does the fact that I will be emailing this from USA matter?

        Please respond!

Again we got an email today 2/14 asking to write more detailed explanation of the nature of duties and responsibilities in all the companies my dad worked. We already provided these details in the previous email. I don't know what the heck they want

That sucks. When did you send your initial response to the consulate? My in-laws sent theirs on 2/10(They had their interview on 2/6). We are just hoping they dont ask us anymore stupid details.

                Thanks!

This is crazy. My in-lawas got the same email today, asking for more details about the projects done and their practical applications. At this point, we've simply given up the hope. I'd appreciate if anyone can provide any inputs on what the hell should we answer them? People with similar experiences please respond!

                  Thanks!

dude, its only an e-mail !!!

Just do as they ask ... they still have the passports and the DD right ??? So you have nothing to lose at this point !

If your applicants in India are not that comfortable typing long e-mails then you do it for them. Ask them all the minute details of their work history and even though you might find it completely irrelevant just put it down in the e-mail ! Make it a 5-7 pages long e-mail if you have to !

If you really want them to visit you in the US then this shouldn't be too much for you to handle ! You are in the last leg of the race and you want to give up now ??!?!?

                      Thanks Bhiku,

Well I just meant I am so frustratrated with this whole ordeal, starting from scheduling an appointment to this. I forgot to add that the consular officer called my Father-in-law this morning and spoke to him again. The email was sent after that. I have to agree, our earlier email response was a little vague. But never did we imagine that a 50+ year old government employee would be treated as a security risk. But now that he is, we have little choice but to be as specific about his job as one can(even if its confidential, he works for defense).

When I said we lost all the hope, I meant the hope of having them here before our little one arrives(in 4 weeks). But I guess there's not much one can do about it.

                      Thanks again!

My parents finally got the Visa

                        Hi Everyone,
My parents finally got the Visa from Chinnei consulate. But My Dad got for 1 year and my mom got for 10 years. They have applied together. They issued only 1 year visa for my Dad after asking lot of questions and exchange of emails. This was the second attempt that my parent went to visa. They got 221(g) and ask us to submit answers for 14 questionier. In the first attempt, visa was rejected based on potencial immigrent.

Thanks a lot for all your support
