Hi all
I had applied for visitors visa in Dec 2015. The interview was scheduled on 31st Dec 2015. I am 27 years old. I had all the documents like my leave approval for one month from the employer, wedding card, bank statement, tax copy, salary slip, cover letter from my relative in US.
The consulate asked me the following questions;
Q) What is the purpose of the visit?
A) To attend my cousin's wedding
Q) What do you do?
A) answered correctly
Q) How much do you earn?
A) Answered correctly (per month salary)
Q) What does your father do?
A) Answered correctly
Q) How much does your father earn?
A) Answered correctly (per month salary)
Q) Have you travelled anywhere outside India before?
A) No
Q) Are you married?
A) NO
"Your visa is denied"... Gave me a 214(b) booklet.
I did not show any documents as I thought I should not b saying or showing something until they ask. I did not tell them that I am the bridesmaid since I thought I should not be over speaking about things.
Should I be showing such documents or tell that I can only visit for one month because I only have leave for a month, without they ask anything like that?
My cousin's wedding (Sikh custom wedding) is on 30th Jan 2016, should I schedule an interview again and tell them everything if they don't ask? Or should wait I apply for her wedding in April (Christian custom wedding)?
Also should I ask the groom (American) to send me a cover letter sponsoring my visit?
Please answer these as I seriously need to attend the wedding. She is the only sister I have.
