  • US citizen married to Permanent Legal Resident whose son has Mexican Citizenship ??

I am trying to apply for a visa for my wife who is a permanent legal resident for her son who is a Mexican citizen to come to the US to go on a trip with us to the Bahamas through a cruise line carnival. My wife's passport for Mexico has is expired but she has her green card, so my question is what is the best way to get a visa for him to come to the United States we live in Colorado?

Does the father have to be present, he is a Mexican citizen? Or can she get it for him herself?
Does my wife file for her son what will she need and what forms we need to fill out and what is the cost?

    Thanks Brad

If the son is a minor, his mother can apply for a B2 visa on his behalf. It is possible the father's whereabouts may be asked. Where to apply depends on the son's state of residence as there are several US consulates in Mexico; you may want to google that info. The rest of the details about applying would also be on the website.
