Turkish Citizen applying for U.S tourist visa from Germany

Hello all,

I am a Turkish citizen who is currently residing and studying it a masters programme in Germany. I am not a EU citizen but I have a residence permit to stay here during my studies. In October I would like to visit another german friend in Los Angeles who is also temporarily staying there with a scholarship.

My question is, can I apply for a U.S visa from one of the U.S Embassies in Germany or do I need to apply from Turkey? Also, is it harder for me to get a visa in this situation? What extra documents should I prepare?

You may be able to apply at the local US embassy as long as you have legal residence in Germany. Please check their website or email them the specific question.

You can apply at an U.S. embassy or consulate worldwide.

But you should apply at the U.S. embassy or consulate that will best understand you.

If you have lived in your present country of residence for five days then apply at home. If you have lived there for five years then it basically is home.

You should be able to apply online for from Germany. In case you are not sure, I would recommend contacting a visa agency like 1a Visum Service. Their international team can help you professionally in English and many other languages.
