Mother's name different from passport in DS 160

Hi All,

I have already submitted my DS-160 application and scheduled an appointment as well. But after submitting the same, I realised that my mother's name in the passport is different.

DS-160: Geeta Dev
Passport: Lata Indrakumar Dev

All my mother's official documents have the name Geeta Dev (name after marriage). But my passport contains Lata Indrakumar Dev.

What should I do? If I carry an affidavit stating that both the names belong to the same person, will that be enough? Please advise.

What is the reason for two totally different names?

Did she change her first name after marriage? Did she go through any official name change procedure?
