B2 Visa for Spouse of H1B holder

Hi,

I am in USA on H1B and my project ends in November 16. I got married in June 16. When I was trying to apply H4 for my spouse, consulate appointment was not available until October first week. So I applied B2 (Tourist Visa) for her, so that she can come here soon. Her visa interview is coming in 10 days.

Confused on what kind of questions might be asked and will it be complicated to get Tourist visa for my wife. (She is not working). She is going to attend the interview in Chennai, India.

Please give me your advice.

What's her intended duration of stay in the US if granted a B visa?

It's likely that her visitor visa application will be denied with a recent marriage to a US resident and no job. A visitor visa is not a substitute for an H4. You should have had some patience and filed for the H4.

Some are willing to bend any rule to skip long lines. She'll likely be denied a B2 when a H4 is appropriate.
