I think it depends on your situation - reasons for rejection, if you have enough valid ties to return back to India etc.
My case was exactly similar to yours. My mother was rejected on Feb 15th even though she had been here before and has sufficient property in India but I am the only child. However, I applied for her to reappear on March 3rd itself cos the first time her answers were not very specific. So I coached her thoroughly , and wrote a concise letter to the officer listing (in bold) the reasons why my mother would return to India. I know people often say that you should wait for 6 months before reapplying but seriously I couldnt. Above all else, God's grace, the mood of the officer and luck play a pivotal role.
Decide carefully based on your situation.

How did u get a date on March 3rd,when your Mom's previous interview was on Feb 15th 2006.How did u manage to get a interview date within that short period of 18 days?
Please let me know , because even my Mother's visa was rejected on 14th Feb 2006 and we couldnt get a date other than August 2006
Your reply will be very helpful

          Thanks,
          MSR

Do not hurry for retry after a 214 b rejection unless there is significant change in the status. Have a 6 month gap.IT IS ADVISED.

                MSR,

I got an initial date of June 29th in order to enter her application forms. By the time I was done, the date was gone but the apps were saved. I kept trying over and over again and got her confirmed for June 6th (for Tamil). Then by repeatedly trying the reschedule/cancel apt link I got March 3rd. It felt like a miracle really. Again I could not wait for 6 months - and even 6 months would not have changed our position any. We would have shown the same peroperty and financial status and same reasons for returning back to India. it wouldnt have changed the fact that I am the only daughter either. My mother has been here before too. So I just highlighted all the reasons why she would return in a letter to the officer and coached her thoroughly. SHe was much more confident the second time and she had a very nice officer - and the prayers of all our family to support her So..I would suggest that you look at the specific reasons for rejection and make your decision based on that.

I am not sure about the 6 month gap VisaChief001. My friend's Visa was rejected on Aug 12th in 2002 and he posted it immediately with the same papers and added just a letter why his app should be reconsidered and guess what he got his visa on Aug 28th. There are no rules what so ever about the amount of time is what I feel. VISA to USA to more or less dependent on our fate and luck. That's all

                    Rekha,

Keep trying, One day will be yours, do not worry about the gap and all.

                    All those analysis don't work.

I think it is right time and right CO.

                    Good luck.
