How to Prepone Visa Interview date ???

I got the following reply from VFS when asked them how to prepone the visa date.It is surprising to note that the reschedule link can only be used to postpone the appointment.However I seen some recent postings in this forum that people were able to prepone thru this link.


Can any one please advice on this.

"Kindly note that as per the rule of the consulate the reschedule link can be used to postpone the date and not to prepone the interview date. If you wish to prepone your interview date it is required that you cancel your appointment and schedule a fresh appointment using the same receipt. However, there is no assurance as to the availability of dates."

I got the same response from VFS and was still able to prepone the apt. the very next day. You can check back for previous postings about this. Either they are trying to discourage this or there is some (web developer induced) loophole on the site that enables this.

I am not sure there is a 'best time'...but all 3 times that I got open time slots (to enter the apps, confirm one date, prepone to another date) the timing was between 4:00 pm US CT and 7:00 pm US CT. I am in the same time zone as you are. I used to try all through the day here. So from 8:30 am to about 11:00 pm. Then a travel agent from India would try during the day in India. But he had absolutely no luck getting a date.
