I have an invite with necessary documents from a family friend whom we hosted in my home 3 years back. I am supposed to visit the US from 1st December 2016 to 14th January, 2017. I am 26 years of age, fully employed, but not married. My sponsor is taking care of living, accommodation, feeding and internal travel expenses within the united states, but I am responsible for my air ticket. I don't have enough money in my accounts to prove that i can afford the air ticket, but i am employed. My ticket is also being sponsored by my brother in-law. Do I stand any chances of getting the B2 tourist visa considering my situation ? Thanks

Your chances of being approved for a B1/B2 visa will be very low. You are young and will probably have a hard time showing strong ties to home country. Visiting a family friend will not be considered a strong purpose for visiting and then this friend appears to be able to financially support you in the states. That will only show the vo that you would have means here even if they are not your own. All of this before taking into account the country in which you live. If it's a high immigration risk country for the U.S., that will make it almost impossible. All you can do is apply.Originally posted by Strato View PostI have an invite with necessary documents from a family friend whom we hosted in my home 3 years back.
