Spouse b2 visa application on same logon permissible

Hello All,

I am preparing to schedule visa application, in the same there is a section to add a family/group member who would be with you for the visa interview. In this section, I have added my spouse details with the VISA D-160 confirmation number. When I reach the payment page, it says that I need to pay 160 x 2 = 320$ USD (22400 INR) with only 1 CGI REFERENCE NUMBER for the same and after the payment is made, I then need to enter the payment reference number against both our respective names.
How is this possible? As I would be paying the fees combined, should I specify the same payment reference number against both our applications for the visa interview? Is the same acceptable? As this money is non refundable and also I have done all the document filling work I do not want to take any chances for rework or rejection.

Please confirm the same immediately, as I need to pay fees tomorrow for the interview scheduling.

Yes the same number will suffice . Infact when your reference number is activated ( 4 hours from payment) ,it will auto appear as "read-only" text against your name and
your wife's name.
